Nominated for 58 Emmys, including one for best drama series, Star Trek: The Next Generation fulfilled all the potential and the early promise of the long awaited successor of the original series 1960 – Star Trek. Created by former LA police officer, Gene Roddenberry, the Star Trek television series turned into a franchise famous for unprecedented fanatical devotion of its audience. Lasting only three seasons during its original network run, Star Trek struck gold with its syndicated repeats, launching a series of moving images with the original cast as well as novels, comic books, collectibles, and lots of Star Trek related with objects of interest.
